A NEW ROUTE

The Venti35 project was created with the intention of protecting the environment and fulfilling needs that require mobility with zero CO2 emissions.

The purpose is to develop a Green Economy through training, research and high-tech products.

On 14 September 2021, Lake Lugano became the first in Switzerland to be equipped with a zero-emission line boat, entirely designed and built in Ticino.

VENTI35 PROJECT

The electrification project is an ambitious project for SNL, and in a strategic manner it will make it possible to achieve significant objectives both in terms of the evolution of the quality standards of navigation on the Ticino's lakes, and in terms of the development of specific skills «made in Canton Ticino».

The first step in this project is the retrofitting of the MN Ceresio 1931, a historic vessel in the fleet, which has been operating on Lake Ceresio for 90 years, and which is due to be launched by summer 2021.
The project will have a significant impact on Ticino's lakes in the fight against climate change, but it has not only been designed as a concrete solution to this issue, but also as a strategy for the future of mobility for the entire Ceresio area and as a model for sustainable navigation to be developed in the Swiss basin of Lake Maggiore and shared with all the other cantons of the Swiss Confederation.
